As it is Canada’s 150th anniversary and access to all National Parks is FREE, thanks to our PM, we have planned the long overdue road trip through Canada for this summer, Yeah.
Starting in Montreal we’ll be driving the Trans Canada Highway all the way to Vancouver.
Planned Stops
The first 3 days we’ll be driving through Ontario:
- night one will be Chutes Provincial Park
- night two Lake Superior Provincial Park
- night three is planned in Quetico Provincial Park
From here on it is all new territory for me.
In the prairies we’ll be staying
- night four Riding Mountain National Park
- night five in the Brooke Alberta area
Rocky Mountains
Once we reach the mountains we will take it easy and spend some time discovering Banff, Jasper and Yoho national parks, camping, hiking and taking pictures….
Vancouver to Tofino
In Vancouver, we have booked an Airbnb which was much more convenient than the hotels in a comparable price range. Here we’ll also be handing over the car and changing to a rental car for the second tier of our road trip. Planned are 2 days for the city before we’ll be heading to Vancouver Island via Nanaimo.
Tofino proved to be quite pricey and booked out we could only manage to find camping in Ucluelet, we’ll see. Planned are 3 days in the Tofino area before we move camp to Juan de Fuca for another few days, then Victoria. If we feel like it, we might even drive all the way to Port Hardy before heading back to Vancouver to catch our plane home to Montreal.
Pictures to come..
